You should reference the date of the edition that you have used.

You can specify the edition on the bibliography by following this format: Author, Initials., Year. Title of book. Edition. (only include this if not the first edition) Place of publication (this must be a town or city, not a country): Publisher.

You can find an example of this in the Harvard Referencing Guide under the heading 'Using Books, Journals, and Newspapers', subheading 'Books with one author'.
